Morning in Paradise
Dawn breaks
As the gulls wake
And over their laughter
I see the hawk
Gently riding the morning’s warmth
I breathe deep
And let the freshness seep
Into the very depths
Of my soul
The smell of coffee on the deck
The gentle breeze upon my neck
I look up into the deep blue sky
To see my hawk still soaring high
With not one earthly care
How did God lead me to this place?
Did He see the longing in my face?
That I desperately needed to come to this space?
What did I do to deserve this fate?
I do not know the why or how
I only know that for now
My life has changed in so many ways
And I don’t bother to count the days
I no longer feel the need to know
The sun has risen in my paradise…
